Happy Shoes-Day Tuesday! Do you like my unnecessarily long title? Good
You know, every know and then I go through phases where I want to stop shopping and really capitalize on what is already in my closet. I found these shoes when I was planning my outfit out to see Cirque du Soleil last Friday. In the process I found several other super cute shoes that could use some lovin’.
This is what I wore:
The shoes are black Guess mock marjanes with a peep-toe. If they were more comfy, I’d wear these all.the.time. However, they push on my inside bone on my left food which makes for less-than-ideal long time wearing. Oh well I paired them with a black pencil skirt and one-shouldered satin top (via Fabrik that I bought 1.5 yrs ago and never wore).
Let me talk about something else though. I thought my outfit was appropriate for the theater. I mean if you’re payin’ decent moola to go see a show, wouldn’t you dress up? Apparently I was one of the few people that thought so. Many attendees were wearing casual jeans and hoodies (hoodies, I tell you!). Ugh. I was quite disappointed that people didn’t have the respect for the arts. Yeah I said it. Just because the word “Cirque” is in the title, does not mean you are going to a circus with elephants and saw dust. Sheesh.
But then again, I’d rather be overdressed than underdressed.
What would you wear to a theater / performing arts show?
Do you prefer to be overdressed or under?
Where the heck have I been? Sheesh. I just haven’t been feeling the blog thing so I didn’t write. Simple as that, yup.
But I’ll catch you up more later this week. For now, let’s get to Shoes-Day!
Post-pregnancy, I’ve rocked the heels a few times – I’d say about 30% of the time, you’ll find me in a heel higher than 2.5 inches. The other 70% of the time, I’m either barefoot, in sneakers (gasp ) or some sort of flat(er) shoes.
Problem is: I don’t have that many flat shoes. Sooo, I’ve had to go shopping. Oh darn
A few weeks ago, I found these Anne Klein ballet slippers with about ~1.5” wedge at Marshalls:
As always, they were a steal at $30 (?) – 0riginally over $60! I love that these don’t slip off my feet like completely flat ballet shoes, and the wedge gave them more appeal as well as comfort (for me).
Easy casual look that allows me to lug the car seat around with ease and walk a few miles to get my beloved daily lattes
I am looking for more medium-heeled wedged shoes – help me find some cute ones!
What are your favorite brand/style wedges? Links welcome!
I am slowly getting back to wearing my 4 inch heels, but this warm Cali weather is almost suggesting sandals instead of pumps. Argh. Can’t we just get a little taste of winter?
Fortunately a week ago we did get some rain, which meant I got to break out a new Christmas gift:
Yep, Hunter rain boots. Score! My hubby saw me looking online at them before Christmas and surprised me with a pair. At first I thought the green might be a little boring, but heck, green goes with everything: brown, black, grey, brown. Perfect. Case in point:
Dark skinny jeans and a (BR) grey cowl neck sweater for a rainy day win.
I kinda love how rain boots are becoming so fashionable. It’s pretty darn great when fashion and function coalesce
Do you own a pair of rain boots? Are you on board with the rain boot fashion trend?
