Cookie, Movie, Mac and more

Thank you once again for your supportive comments on my last post about body after baby.  I appreciate your suggestions and your compliments were so sweet.  Thank you for understanding!

Another weekend gone too quickly, but it was a good one.

The one downside is that Cookie (Bean’s grandma) left.  She was watching bean all last week and he absolutely loved it – and her!  Just look at that grin:

While she was here, she got Bean to start standing with support (against the coffee table, chair, etc).  She also got him to sit up on his own!  He’s been resistant on this, but finally can do it Winking smile  Oh and she taught him how to read:

Kidding of course, but he sure looks engrossed.

Friday night, Zach and I had a date night and saw the new Batman movie.  It was phenomenal.  No, it was spectacular.  You have to know that I’m not much for fantasy, sci-fi type movies, but this blew away my expectations.  So so good.

However, I cannot say how deeply saddened I am by the tragic events that unfolded Friday morning in CO.  My heart goes out to those that have lost loved ones and those that are injured.

Saturday was slow moving after my Spin class and I think the stagnation put me in a wee bit of a funk (<—hate when that happens).  Ultimately we decided to head to Los Gatos to one of my favorite wine bars: Rootstock.  Love it there.  After a glass of bubbly, I was a much happier girl.  The second bubbly made me happier yet – go figure Open-mouthed smile

And after that, we made a purchase that lead to this:

Leaning tower of laptops? Nooo….

This:

My first Mac!  Meep!  Exciting huh?  I’ve been a PC girl my entire life but Zach has convinced me that Macs are superior so I bit the bullet.

Oh and get this deal: ever since my other laptop died, Zach offered to buy me a 13” MacBook Air in exchange for me buying the plane tix to VA in September.  Little did he know that I had already bought the tix.  Mwuahahahaaha.  Sounds like a sweet deal to me!

Sunday morning I started off with Tina’s Best Body Bootcamp!  Technically it starts Monday, but I had Monday planned as my rest day so I started early Winking smile  I have a feeling it’s going to kick my butt!

And last but not least, it was a mani/pedi day.  You see my nails above?  They’re pink.  I never do pink nails.  My toes match.  Who am I?

If you saw the new Batman movie, did you love it?

How do I blog on a Mac???  Currently I’m using Windows Live Writer on my netbook

And that was a good weekend

…to which you may say, what weekend is not a good weekend?  Well, frankly, some are just better than others and this one was a good one!

On Friday, Auntie CC, Bean and I went to Rootstock in Los Gatos for an afternoon of vino and apps.  It was rather glorious and sadly there are no photos (living in the moment, people).  We needed to have our own fun since Zach was at the US Open up in SF (a Father’s Day gift to himself methinks).

Saturday morning after 30 minutes on the elliptical followed by abs, we did a 4 mile walk with a stop for iced lattes and bagels at the halfway point.  Despite the heat, it was lovely to walk to breakfast.

Upon our return we thought it would be a great time to finally get Bean in the pool:

Like with every new venture, he smiled through it Winking smile  Next time maybe I’ll get in..ha!

Saturday evening was spent celebrating a friend’s Birthday (Happy Bday Kate!).  The Bay Area was a balmy 95 degrees!  We all seem to melt around here once things get above 85.  Even bean had a sweaty upper lip.  Poor guy.

Sunday was my personal training session and once again my PT thought it appropriate to make me to do step jumps and burpees.  Blech.  Anything to do with jumping/bouncing is not my idea of fun.

Before my workout, I gave bean gave Zach his gifts.  He even sported a new hat for himself in honor of his daddy:

Future golfer – what do you think?

Following the workout, Zach, Bean and I headed to Peets for some iced lattes to kick off the day.  He didn’t have many requests for celebrating other than these two items:

That would be Zach’s fave dessert: applecrisp.  My guess is that it will be gone by this evening.

And of course Pinkberry – please do not assume mine is on the left.  Zach is ridiculous and gets a large mango/original mix with berries and oreos.  I went the PBJ-esque route with PB/strawberry and cap’n crunch and granola (in  a more appropriately sized small).

Despite it being Dad’s day, I was able to sneak out and get a new mani:

Mint (gel) mani and yellow jeans – why hello Summer!

And that my friends is what made a better-than-average weekend!

What makes it a good weekend for you?

Whose froyo sounded better?  Kidding..sort of…I know you think mine sounds better right? Winking smile

Happiest Father’s Day to all the “dads” in my life: Zach, Dad/Grandpa, Gregorio/Grandpa G, Gary/Poppy.  Much love!

And Happy Birthday (last Thursday) to my Bestie Boo Andrea!
