Good morning friends!
Today marks my 38th week of pregnancy. Holy god that’s a long time. I’m definitely at the point where I waver between wanting him to bake a bit longer (say a week) and ready for him to join the world. I’m think this coming weekend is an awesome time for him to arrive
I’ll do a 38 week update after my doctor’s appointment on Wednesday.
This weekend was a pretty good one. Granted we had to cancel on the SF dinner party on Friday night as well as Zach’s work Christmas party (also in SF) because frankly I just couldn’t do it at 38 weeks. Instead, both nights were low key and Saturday and Sunday were more filled with fun
Saturday I met up with Miss Shayla, whom I adore, for some much needed girl chat and making of pecan pie cookies. We managed to not take a single picture because we were gabbing too much of course, but if we would have taken pics, it probably would have been of the creeper at the Mountain View Starbucks who seemed to have a slight obsession with us. Weird.
Sunday we got our Christmas tree –yay! I’ll show pics later this week of the work in progress and the end product. We also went to our friend’s pre-baby party and their spread of food was so fabulous I’m kicking myself for not takings pics. So freakin’ good!
Okay onto the nursery, right?
I really wanted to go for a color scheme that flowed with the rest of our home, which has a lot of calming greens and browns, but splashes of yellow and red. I also knew I didn’t want to go traditional blue for a boy, but was rather stuck on thinking of a set theme. Zach actually had stronger opinions and really liked the ideas of monkeys so that’s what eventually we ended up threading throughout.
Being that we rent, we are obviously limited in how much we can do and how much space, but I think we made it work ![]()
For a narrative commentary, check out my video on youtube. Otherwise just see the photos below:
I have to admit that I often just come in the room and look around. I’m quite in love with it. I just melt at knowing he will be here soon and getting to wear the sweet clothes, sleep on my chest, and have tummy time in the boppy. It’s all so very real!
If you have a baby, what is your nursery theme or color?
If babies are in your future, any thoughts on what your nursery would like?
And for those where b-a-b-y is a 4 letter word, what fun thing did you do this weekend?
