Shoes-Day! Maternity fashion edition (3rd tri)

Good morning my friends!

Before I start my post, I have to confess I had a bit of a fat kid moment last night and feel like total poop about it.  Sad smile  With all the indulgent eating this weekend, I had planned to get back on track yesterday and it went great…until I arrived home.  I finished off my sweet swap cookies along with 2 maple cupcakes (that I made for the baby shower).  Then I followed it by eating the last 1/10th of jar of PB&Co Mighty Maple.  Sigh.  No control.  I was racked with guilt for the rest of the night.  Grrr….

But today is a new day and I’m determined to have a wee bit more discipline.

Moving on…

For this Shoes-Day post, I’m going to show you that 3rd trimester pregnancy doesn’t mean flat shoes or tennis (unless you want to, that is Winking smile )

The shoes featured in both of these outfits are Me Too black patent leather pumps with a great tread.  They are comfy, basic and go with a ton.
On the left: Black maternity skirt from Mom’s the Word, basic white tank from Target and military jacket from Marshalls
On the right: maxi maternity skirt from Destination Maternity (love this skirt), teal tank from Old Navy, and tweed taupe blazer from NY&Co signature line.

These boots are some of my absolute fave brown boots – they are Alfani and purchased from Macy’s a few years ago.  I paired them with black Old Navy maternity pants and a loose tan/taupe Dolman knit from Marshalls.

Just like black bumps, a girl needs brown pumps.  These are Jessica Simpson crocodile patterned purchased from Marshalls.  The wool plaid skirt is a recent love from Pea in the Pod (via Destination Maternity) – so great for Fall!  A cheap-o tank from Forever 21 and black cardi from Express completes the outfit.

Who doesn’t love polka-dots?  These Jessica Simpson black shoes were a Christmas present from the hubby in 2006.  I channeled my inner 80’s chick with cropped Forever 21 leggings (non-maternity) and a loose teal Forever 21 tunic (non-maternity).

And finally, I embraced our Cali warm spell last week and wore my strappy brown sandals by Enzo Angiolini, which I bought through DSW.com.  The jeans are boot cut Motherhood Maternity brand, with the same taupe Forever 21 top, and taupe/white striped cardi from Marshalls. (This is the outfit that went with yesterday’s side profile pic of the belly growth Smile with tongue out)

Admittedly my uber high heels are starting to gather dust and I’m opting for more wedges, lower heels, wider bases, etc.  But I’m not giving up quite yet Winking smile  I still want to incorporate fun fashionable choices as long as my comfort isn’t too compromised!

Have you had any life situations that have required a change in footwear choices?

Pumps? Boots? Sandals?  Which reigns supreme?

Have any recent fat kid moments like mine???

Shoes-Day!

There are few things dearer to my heart than shoes.  Well I suppose family, friends, and pets rank pretty high, and maybe peanut butter and vino as well….okay I digress.

[Oh and before I go, this is what someone typed in to Google and arrived at my site: where can i buy shoes that look like bananas.  Nice!  For that person, please do share where you found your banana shoes  ]

Buying me a pair of shoes is a sure way to win me over.  My hubby knows this.  The first pair of shoes he bought for me can be seen here.  Jessica Simpson polka-dotted pumps that he picked out on his own.  They were (are) fab and fit like a glove and have just the right amount of cute and sass.  He done good.

Now Zach knows the best bet for happy gift is to buy me shoes.

So even this past Christmas when he gave me a Netbook I had my eye on, he had the foresight to temper the blandness of giving / getting electronics with a pair of shoes.

Enter Guess peeptoe pumps:

Don’t you just love the lacy feminine feel?

Hot enough for going out, but subtle enough for a casual work day.

7 jeans, NY&Co jacket, Express black sweater, Guess shoes

What is the one gift guaranteed to make you smile?

Shoes-Day!

Thanks for the Birthday wishes!  Bloggers are such incredibly sweet people and I love you all :)   Admittedly it was a bit of a boring day overall, but I did score free vino on United.  For some reason they flight attendants gave me 3 glasses (and actual glasses with the first-class vino).  Nice :)

Did I tell you I bought a pair of shoes last week?  Yep, I did.  It’s actually the first pair I’ve personally bought in, well, a month or so.  That must be a record.  And what is a record is that I found them online (endless.com) in less than 5 minutes and purchased in 10.  Score!  I’ll showcase them soon enough , but they will probably make their debut in Kauai just a few short weeks away.  And, er, I may have bought a pair of boots on Sunday.  Dang ShopItToMe emails.  They lure me right in.

Today I’ll hit ya with another business look and day-to-night shoe.

Work wear (yes it's still dark out)

Doh!  You can barely see the shoes.  This is what they look like close up:

JS Brown Pumps

I bought these probably 2 years ago at Marshalls for about $40, which was half of the retail price.  I have a similar pair that I showed you back in June that are black and white polka-dottted as seen here.

Here’s another look — more casual Friday.  And what do you know, recycling the same jacket.  ‘Spose I like it much?

It’s no secret that I have a love for shoes.  And from what I gather, so do many of you bloggers out there, so I ask…

Would you be up for a shoe-giveaway (from me, to you)?

I’d either highlight a favorite shoe of mine to give away (in your size of course) or have you give me an idea or two of the shoe you are looking for and be your personal shopper/buyer.  Thoughts?
