30 more minutes?

Happy Monday to ya!

Yesterday morning during Spin, the instructor asked us about 30 minutes into class, “who wants to go 30 minutes longer?”  Had I not consumed 5 days worth of food at La Fondue last night, I might have not raised my hand.  But I was in it for the long haul.  Usually Spin is about 45-50 minutes with a few teachers stretching to 55 minutes.  A 75 minute class may be borderline cruelty. I have a feeling I’m going to be quite sore today.

Speaking of La Fondue, it was date night for Zach and me.  And also a joint birthday celebration since we both share January birthdays and likely wouldn’t go out for each.  I think I was as excited to dress up as I was to eat 4 decadent courses:

You gotta also appreciate the background babygate decor right (and the horribly fuzzy photos..sheesh)?  I thought about taking pics during dinner, but meh, didn’t feel like it.  After feasting and drinking for over 2.5 hours straight, I looked like I was about 5 months pregnant.  I vowed not to eat ever again…or until yesterday morning.  Whichever came first.

The rest of the weekend was filled with the usual including errands, coffee breaks, lunch meet ups, mommy group, and Indian food for dinner Friday:

Vindaloo paneer (sadly the curry was jarred, but the paneer was sautéed separately along with red onions and peas), plus roasted cauliflower with turmeric, and a bit of rice and tortilla (sub for the naan).  Quite good, but I’m dying for some Darbar in Palo Alto.   Any takers?

Oh I also baked some cranberry, white chocolate chip oatmeal cookies (recipe from the container of oats).  Again, no pictures, because I was too lazy.  And a note to Zach’s coworkers, he was supposed to bring about 2 dozen of them to work on Friday but he forgot, so I had to pawn them off elsewhere ;)

And with that, time to get this week started….

WIAW: Still indulging

Hey hey hey!

My baby is 2 weeks old today.  And yup, there is going to be a lot of baby talk on my blog.  Why?  Because I love him more than life itself and I can’t imagine not blogging about him.  Hope that’s okay with you Winking smile

It’s been awhile since I’ve done a good ol’ What I Ate Wednesday so I thought I’d just jump right back in!

It may be the new year and all but I have been eating like it’s the holidays.  Partly because I’m still in celebration mode from my lil arrival, but also because I feel like I can’t really get back into the health groove until I heal better.  Don’t get me wrong, I’m definitely eating balanced nutritious meals, but also dipping into the sweets a little lot.

Here is a hodge podge of eats:

Indian food at home: Paneer cheese, steamed frozen veggies, tikka masala curry sauce and a side of naan and rice.  Beyond delicious!

005

Scrumptious banana bread that I’ve made before.  Try it with TJ’s cookie butter and you’ll have heaven in your mouth.

Not pictured: Kung Pao Cabbage from Jing Jing, homemade pizza, lots of Starbucks lattes…

Oh and some of these guys:

Sprinkles cupcakes – German Chocolate (Carly’s), Smores (Zach’s), Lemon Coconut (mine).

And just for fun, here is some daily cuteness Open-mouthed smile

Some weekend pics and still pregnant

Happy last Monday before Christmas my friends!

Oh how I wish I lived somewhere nice and chilly and covered with snow.  It gets me in the spirit so much more than this silly Cali weather.  Although at least it has been quite brisk in the evenings and mornings.

And I’m officially done shopping, are you???

If you are reading this, I either had enough time to press “publish” before heading to the hospital or am indeed still pregnant Smile with tongue out

Out baby, out! I’m 39 weeks pregnant, it’s time!

I’ve been trying everything to urge him out: deep squats, cardio, long walks, pineapple juice, Indian food…and nothing.  Just feeling generally achy and sore in the pelvic region.  Sigh.

Oh but that Indian food?…

It was good.  Damn good.  I did the vegetarian sampler plate from Darbar in Palo Alto.  You can tell I pretty much liked it all.  But the spinach paneer was probably the best along with about 5 pieces of naan.  Mmmmmmm.

In other news, I received a fabulous surprise from my good blend Lauren!

I’ve been ooo-ing and ahh-ing over all her fabulous cookies she’s been baking and she sent me one of her most recent batches of gingerbread cookies along with an adorable onesie for Sawyer!  Thank you so much! The hubby is going to town on the gingerbread cookies.  Oh and no, the gingerbread did indeed have a head – I just ate it off before I took a picture Winking smile

I think she knew I was craving gingerbread because I succumbed and bought a pre-made mix (minus egg/water/butter) from Target by Betty Crocker earlier this week.  And frankly, I got the genius idea to melt marshmallows between two of them.  I kid you not when I say this is absolutely freakin’ delicious.  Fat kid-ish?  Heck yes!  Do I care?  Nope.

Besides eating, the rest of the weekend was spent rather low key.  Just more cleaning, nesting, walking, and Christmas shopping.

Are you a fan of gingerbread cookies?

Who is left on your Christmas list?  Who is the hardest to buy for?  I’d say the hubby ranks pretty high because he doesn’t come up with ideas or wants insanely expensive things, which is sort of the same for me.  Oye.  What a match we make.
