Shoes-day Tuesday! Blame the bestie

Alright, I’ve got some beef with mother nature.  It’s October and in the 80′s, which just isn’t right.  It’s not atypical of NorCal to get some hot days in September, but usually that is behind us by now.  The freakishly warm weather is really cramping my Fall fashion…ha!  Speaking of which, I’m seriously sick of all my clothes.  Any one want to do a full on clothes swap with me?

Despite the heat, I still broke out my new burnt orange skinny jeans (Marshalls purchase) on Friday and paired it with a tee.  They are so soft and will hopefully look good with boots in a few weeks:

But for Shoes-Day, I’m showing a summer-to-fall transition outfit (mostly because of the heat).  I wore this to work last Tuesday:

White Gap trousers, orange Dolman top (over a tan cami), and orange sandals:

See, white for Summer (even past Labor Day which is silly rule IMO) and orange for Fall.  Maybe it’s a stretch, but it works I think.

So why blame the bestie?  Well every now and then, she’ll tell me she’s buying shoes.  Then she sends me the links.  Then I inevitably buy the exact same pair in the exact same size.  And yes we even did this when she was living just a few miles (vs on the East Coast).  So I blame the bestie for making me get these Mix 6 wedges (purchased from DSW.com) in a size 7.5.  The wedge is extremely tall, but oddly comfortable as are the straps.  They were a great surprise shoe and I’m pretty sure, on sale, they were in the $35-range.

Do you follow any of the fashion-season rules?

Shoes-Day! Fall boots edition

Hi Friends – how goes it?  I’m in training all week so my days are pretty packed and my nights are filled with a my regular work.  This leaves very little me time (and blog time too!).  And Sawyer is doing summersaults in my belly so I’m constantly distracted Winking smile

But hey it’s Shoes-Day! so let’s get to the important stuff!

I’m ready for Fall.  The number one reason (err, well number 2, since ‘all things pumpkin’ falls in at number 1) is to where boots!  My boots tend to be a lot more comfy than my sandals and this preggers girl is ready for some comfort.

That being said, I think I bought 6 pairs of boots last Fall/Winter so I really don’t need another pair.

But, well, you know me, and I know me, so *need* goes out the window and want steps in. Devil  Insert evil laugh here Smile with tongue out

My original thought was to find a great riding boot this year and my limit was maybe $300-400.  Then baby expenses started to add up so I felt like I should lower that.

Below are some of the finds:

Enzo Angiolini Nate Boot (Brown) – via Endless $147
Why I love: Enzo boots are so comfy and last forever.  This brown boot is already weathered looking and looks both dressy and casual.

Enzol Angiolini Nate Boot (Taupe) – via DSW $139
Why I love:  Yes this is the same boot as above only in taupe.  Taupe is such a classy color for a boot, adding sophistication to any outfit, particular a pair of dark skinny jeans paired with a red trench.

image

Ciao Bella Tabby Two Tone – via DSW $99
Why I love: The two-toned or color-block look has me totally drawn in this season.  This boot is simple, sleek, and inexpensive!

image

Nine West Clara Dark Brown – via Endless $199
Why I love: In one word – the color!  It’s labeled as dark brown, but if it’s like the picture, it’s very red / burnt brown, which is beyond faboosh!  Nine West is another fave go-to brand of mine.

image

Nine West Vermillion Medium Brown – via Endless $159
Why I love: Great shaft height, nice low heel, and wide calf which differs from what I mostly get, which is the slimmer calf.

image

Tory Burch boots with logo – via Polyvore $560
Why I love: Um, what’s not to love?  Oh yeah, the price.  I haven’t seen these TB boots in person, but maybe that’s a good thing because I ***want*** them.  BAD.  They are the epitome of the perfect all around camel-colored boot with soft leather, a moderate heel, and great lines.  Gimme!

Do you own any riding boots?

Send me a link to some boots you’re lovin’!

Which boot do you like best (aside from the Tory Burch)?

Shoes-Day!

Well friends, I have some potentially horrible news.

Like really terrible.

{Before you start to worry, please note I’m exaggerating}

But this news is really just, well, sad.

My feet are swelling Surprised smile

And you know what swollen feet mean?  Really uncomfortable shoes-day.  Sigh.  All my beloved shoes are starting to hurt my feet just a wee bit.  [Let’s be real..all my shoes always hurt a little, but this is like end-of-day-walking-around-a-city-for-10-miles-in-4”-heels discomfort).  Yeah.  Bummer.

I think it hit home yesterday when I donned a new pair of shoes to work.

Aug 15 2011

In the outfit is a loose cami from NY&Co along with a gold blazer also from NY&Co, which is paired with a Gap jean pencil skirt (non-maternity and fully buttoned..woohoo for small victories! Thumbs up ).

The shoes are Jones New York purchased from DSW.com at for $69.95 (down from $89, and I had an add’l $10 GC).  I quite like the shoes and their slightly shimmery gold color and lattice-like cut-outs, but sadly, they do pinch my (swollen) feet a bit.  Sigh.

Here they are up close (via DSW and below):

So there you have it:  Tragedy Tuesday Shoes-Day.  Oh whatever will I do if my feet don’t go back to normal size.  Massive blog giveaway for size 7.5 shoes???

What do you do with shoes you love, but don’t quite fit anymore?

Are you a fan of the jean pencil skirt?
