Shoes-Day! Mama-baby play date wear

It’s Tuesday Shoes-Day and I’m showing you a repeat wear of shoes.  Next week you’ll get a new pair, I promise

Last week I had the pleasure of meeting up with four lovely new mamas and their babies for a play date.  And really when babies are <3 months old, the ‘playing’ is nonexistent and it’s more of a chance for the moms to gab / vent / compare experiences.  And I loved every minute of it.

Despite my lil soybean being less than 3 weeks old at the time, I have been fortunate to get in daily showers and time to put a little effort into my appearance. 

The look includes grey foldover booties by BCBG (size 7.5), red Michael Kors short trench and a Kate Spade diaper bag. I call the look ‘mama chic.’

My outfits haven’t been the most exciting couture lately, but my belief is skinny jeans, cute boots/booties and a structured top are great for a go-to look.

I may touch more upon my ‘looks of late’ in my 4 weeks postpartum update tomorrow.

Shoes-Day! Repeat–Silver Wedges

Thank you so much for you thoughtful comments (blog, FB, emails, etc), support, and love yesterday  on our happy news!

We are over the moon excited and I want to wear a shirt with a giant “P” on it to let the world know I’m pregnant….but that may be a wee bit much, eh?

And before you even ask, YES, I am going to be “Pregnant in Heels".  Without a doubt you’ll see me sportin’ the bump and the stilettos.  Let’s just hope my feet don’t grow so that I can’t utilize my shoe collection.  Then again, that would mean buying new shoes…hmmmm

The few times I’ve worn flats lately, my back seems to hurt, so I’m convinced that I should be wearing heels at all times. 

I showcased these wedges last August with a blue / grey mini-dress.  This time around I’m giving you the shoes with a work outfit.

I need to apologize.  I noticed on my WordPress “Dashboard” that I had quite a few Spam emails so I checked to verify.  Wouldn’t ya know that in the last 10 days, 20 comments went to spam…and 99% of them were from regular readers/commentors.  I’m sorry I missed them!  But I got a smile reading them in retrospect   And I’m super sorry if you posted on the Shoes-Day Giveaway and your comments to Spam.  Next time I will make sure this doesn’t happen.

Oh and I’m glad to hear I’m not the only one that experiences backfire when the pressure is on to look good.  Your advice: chill out, and eat in moderation.  Will do!

Tomorrow I will be wearing wedges and flip-flops, but today I’m still sportin’ the boots Cali-winter style.  I still have a few more to show you before warm weather footwear trumps all.

ShopItToMe got me again!

Each Sunday I visit with my own personal shopper via email and dangit if it’s not spot on with a high percentage of the finds.  So when I saw this boot (in black) I knew I wanted it.  Not to be too impulsive, I decided to get in a sweaty workout before making any decisions.  Upon my sweaty return, my mind was made up.  I clicked the link to Piperlime and GASP :O the black was all sold out in my size!

I noticed there was a grey option, and after mentally scanning my boot inventory, decided that these were different enough from any other boots I own.  Click. Purchase.  Win.

And what’s even better is that they retailed for close to $150 and I got them for the awesome price of $50! 

Questions to ponder…

What was the most impulsive shoe / clothing purchase you’ve had? The most recent one is a Michael Kors oversized watch I got a Nordstroms this past weekend.  It was pricey, but it spoke to me…what can I say?

If you had to live in flip-flops or boots, which would you choose? I’d say boots because they have more pizzazz and style!  And boots are fab with a heel.  Flip-flops not so much.
