Shoes-day Tuesday!

Hey there, Shoes-day Tuesday does exist!

Today I’m featuring a shoe every woman needs: the red pump.  I was without this much-needed shoe for several months since I went on a shoe purging spree and threw these red pumps away (they lost the rubber heel stop).   So when Zach and I visited the Gilroy Outlets after Thanksgiving, I honed in on Nine West for some classic, easy, every day type red heels.  Seek and you shall find:

These are a 7.5 and run true to size (as do most Nine West shoes, I’ve found).  The 3.5″ heel makes them quite comfortable for a 9+ hour day as well.  As for cost, because of the sales, I don’t quite remember, but I want to say I got them for about $50.  This style goes on sale quite a bit, so it’s pretty easy to avoid the $89 price tag if you keep your eyes peeled.

This is a way I’ve worn the shoes to work (black Limited pants, striped Gap sweater):

And on another note, I picked up a new scent.  I really wanted to get the Hanae Mori again (I’m nearly out), but Zach convinced me to get something new.  So I returned to Burberry Brit, though this time I got Sheer.  It’s slightly more floral than I’d normal get, but it’s fun and good for daily wear.

Favorite  color for a heel?  I have to say red or nude

Favorite scent? Vanilla, without a doubt

Shoes-Day Tuesday!

As the holidays near, I feel so grateful to be able to hug my loved ones close … and to celebrate my baby’s very 1st Christmas.  No presents can compare to the gifts I already have.  It’s worth it to take a moment and remember this…

The last week has been crazy (I feel like I’m saying that a lot lately), but in a good way.  Work is keeping me on my toes as is my soon-to-be toddler (meep! 1 year old on the 28th!).

But I did cross a big item of my to-do list — “Purchase new car.” Check!  When it comes to bigger purchases, I am extremely decisive.  I know what I want and after the main research / checks, I just go for it.  It hasn’t served me wrong yet.  Zach however likes to investigate…a lot.  Luckily, we know a good deal when we see one and were able to purchase a newer version of my old car on Friday.  It feels just like my old car.  And it beats driving this around:

Yes that was my rental car for 3 whole days.  Yeehaaa!  That would be a pink Chevy Spark.  I said it was my Moet & Chandon pink bubbly car. Ha!

Anyway, back to Shoes-Day Tuesday.  A few weeks ago, we hit up the outlets in Gilroy and I bought a couple of pairs of shoes for work from Nine West.  While these aren’t the most ‘fun’ shoes, they have already proven to be extremely functional.  Two different outfits shown below:

I wore both outfits to work (the second much more casual than I’d normally wear).  But the shoes worked with both I think.

They are the Nine West Outahereo (?) style.  I tried googling to find a good pic (since the pic below is so horrible), but I can’t seem to find them.  They are a size 7.5, with about a 3.5″ wedge and they are beyond comfy.  I am so glad I purchased them. They are a dark taupe that can be taken as brown or grey — double win!  I believe I purchased them for just under $60.  A similar pair can be found on Zappos.

Do you have ‘just for work’ shoes or do yours cross over?  Generally speaking I’d say most of my shoes are fair game any time, any where, but there are a few that are strictly fun

Shoes-day Tuesday!

Hey there

First I want to thank you for your concern over my accident.  From the early assessment of my car, it’s likely it will be considered a total loss.  Hmmm, didn’t expect to be car shopping in December…

Moving on to a lighter topic — shoes!  I finally got around to uploading some pics I had taken last month and lo and behold, there are some new boots to share.

Usually when I buy a new pair of shoes/boots, Zach tells me I have a pair exactly like them already.  He’s usually right.  But I can safely say I have not had boots like the ones shown below:

Nov 21 2012 Aldo

They are a very light taupe, nearly cream and I sort of love them.  I’ve had an Aldo gift card burning a hole in my wallet for nearly a year and went in there on a whim (the weekend of all the car issues) and saw these in the clearance area.  They were over $200 originally, marked down to the low $100′s, then another 30% off.  With my gift card, I ended up paying about 30 bucks out of bucket.  Sweet!

And in case you didn’t know, Aldo now does half sizes.  I was never a huge fan of their shoes because the 37′s were too fitted and the 38′s too roomy.  The boots (the last ones I might add) were a 37.5 (which is the equivalent of a 7.5).

How light of a boot would you wear?
