Hey there!
Welcome to 2013! As always, the holidays came and went all too quickly. I think I’m having a case of the post-Xmas blues too. Hurumph. But I have to admit, it feels great to have the tree down, the decorations put away, and a clean home. Except for the abundance of new toys that need a home
I won’t bore you with long paragraphs of what I’ve been up to for the last few weeks, so below are some highlights and pics:
- Spent the holidays with my in-laws in VA
- Experienced my first Xmas with my baby boy
- Ate at least 3 lbs of cheese (and washed it down with several bottles of vino)
- Watched Bean get amazed by ceiling fans
- Behaved myself at the Owens’ Xmas party (not the case a few years ago)
- Went to Christmas Eve mass
- Ate at a hibachi restaurant for Xmas Eve dinner — Bean was amazed by the fire
- Belted out Xmas tunes
- Enjoyed the snowfall — more than once
- Played with Bean in his new wagon
- Worked out (twice, weak style)
- Played Apples-to-Apples and a similar not-to-be-mentioned game
And something else pretty noteworthy happened over the holidays: Bean turned 1!!!
- He had a gingerbread man themed party
- He was not a fan of cake, but loved eating the gingerbread cookies
- New presents are not as fun as old toys or his Pewi push toy
- Despite being away from his little friends at home, several people came to celebrate his big day
- His Obbie (my Mom) flew up from FL to spend his birthday together
- There is nothing wrong with taking a 1 hour nap in the middle of your 3 hour birthday party
- Bean is very very loved
- The love Bean has brought me in this last year is indescribable
And with that, I’m signing off and getting ready for the Rose Bowl (hometown vs current home) — Go Stanford!

And what is it with kids that age and ceiling fans? Braedon is still obsessed with them. Every time we walk into the gym he sees the big fans and screams FAN! FAN! FAN!
