Hey there
Bean and I just made through a weekend solo (well a Thurs thru Sunday), since Zach was away for work. We had some good mommy/baby bonding, but when Zach walked in the door this AM, I booked it to workout and get a pedi
Bean didn’t mind. He decided he’d take a 3 hour nap.
To celebrate his the big 9 months, we got him his very first haircut!

Other fun facts (that are notable changes from the 7 month update)
- Eats:2 ‘meals’ of solids a day and may move to 3 meals shortly. Breakfast is often greek yogurt, quick oats, banana and cinn blended together. Dinner is sweet potato with some lentils, carrot sticks, maybe cheese. Oh and the puffs. Lots and lots of puffs. He loves them and it gives me a few minutes to putz around the kitchen. He is still picky about textures and prefers his food blended, but not soupy. He’s eating, on average, 24 oz of Similac formula a day (cluster feeding at night) and about 300ish cals of solid food.
- Sleeps:7p-7a on average with 2 1-hour naps or 1 2-hour nap and a shorter nap.
- Sounds:dada, somthing that sort of sounds like mama, throat gurgling, yaaaalaaayaaa (loud ‘talking’), clicking his tongue, snorting. He can also sign the word for milk.
- Movements: literally just started crawling (but it’s more like an army crawl on the front arms), still prefers to roll and rotate to where he wants to go. Can sit up unassisted and can stand while leaning against something. Likes to ‘walk’ with some help. Can easily transition from sitting to laying down. Cannot stand up in crib yet (we just dropped it tonight!).
- Toys, etc: blocks, random boxes, my hand, my necklaces, eating books, having books read to him, knobs on drawers, the patio glass doors, his stuffed lemur, his binky, animal paws, door stops.
- Clothes:size 3 diapers by day, size 4 sleeper by nights (he’s about ready for 4′s during the day). 12-18 clothes fit best (though we squeeze him in some 9-12mo) and he does wear some 18-24mo (my god!).
- Teeth: none! I’m convinced he’s going to be toothless forever.
- Other: He is about 1 cm away from not fitting in his car seat so we have purchased (but not yet installed) the Britax Marathon thanks to tons of recommendations. We got it in the waverly print and the version we got goes up to 70 lbs (rear to front facing). No carseat means, no snap-n-go stroller, so we recently purchased the Maclaren Triumph (super light, looks cute (in red!), but has no storage and I feel like he reclines a bit too much).
That about wraps it up. Here’s 2 more pics, just for fun

I can’t believe how big he’s getting! Thanks for the baby in the sink pic! Cutest ever.
He loves splashing in the water…and simultaneously looking at himself in the mirror
9 months already! THis is crazy!!!
So adorbs
Looks like such a little MAN!
I know! No longer my lil baby
Ahh, I can not believe that little stud is 9 months already! He’s growing so fast but into such a handsome little man.
<3
Oh I love love love the haircut pics! He looks like such a grown-up in that chair! And he’s so dang handsome with his new ‘do. Oh Bean, always stealing muh heart with your smile.
I know, doesn’t he! I was definitely having a moment at the salon. He truly is growing up before my eyes.
Oh beanie…
Love him and that little pot belly!!! He is too damn cuuuuute! Can you believe how fast they are growing! I blink and another month has flown by. Funny because we also got the mclaren stroller!! We love that too and its even easier than the snap and go to cart around. Btw – Ben is also a puff fiend. How great is it to have a dog around to vacuum up all those stray puffs
Of course you have the Maclaren…that just makes me laugh.
Oh and yes dogs are awesome for cleaning up all the messes. Naava loves when it’s meal time around bean!
My 8 month old also has no teeth, while our neighbor’s son the same age has 4! Totally normal though. Goodness my boy eats around 30oz formula a day plus 2 meals, I have a little piggy!
Bean is such a chubbawub so I was worried I was overfeeding him, but per the Pediatrician, apprently about 750-900 cals is the target for his age…then again there is no ‘normal’
What a lil man ! He is so stinkin’ adorable and isn’t it amazing how quickly they grow out of sizes? We just packed up Hannah’s newborn and 0-3 months clothes! She’s too long for them!
It’s nuts! Just when I fall in love with an outfit, he outgrows it
Ummm . . . is that child ever not smiling? He even looks happy getting his haircut, and I’m pretty sure that’s not supposed to happen.
He is one heck of a smily baby…I love it
How stinkin’ cute is he! I can’t believe he’s 9 months already. Love the update posts!
He is getting so big!!! Sawyer and Cameryn love playing with a lot of the same things, especially door stops and eating books! I’m jealous of all his hair! I can’t believe you already had to get it cut! Cameryn barely has any, although she has a lot compared to when she was born! C is also addicted to puffs! She LOVES them! Like you, they buy me a few minutes in the kitchen to get her other foods together!
I can’t believe how fast our little ones are growig up! It feels like just yesterday I was reading your pregnancy updates!
I know right Kjirsten! And the time passing is so much more evident now with the babies. It’s amazing and sad all at once.
Zach and I both don’t have a lot of hair so I have no idea why bean is so hair-blessed. Maybe to cover up for his big noggin’..haha!
So so so cute!!!!
He is so handsome! I mean, that’s kind of expected from a hot mama, but still… too cute!
