Hey there strangers
Where oh where have I been? Hiding I suppose. There is too much to recap on some I’m going to give you a lot of random:
- Stopping breastfeeding is no joke. It’s difficult physically and emotionally. I made it through immediate postpartum without getting depressed, but this surely got me there
- I’ve been in a funk as a result
- Having a less-than-special Mother’s Day didn’t help matters
- Things are looking up however
- We leave for NYC/Boston in a couple days –> meaning I see my bestie and her little tater tot in less than week

- Zone Perfect sent me their Perfectly Simple bars to try. Pretty nice of them, I’d say. I tried the Peanut Crunch and it reminds me a lot of the YouBar I created. Very tasty and something I would definitely buy again (I’m pretty sure I’ve seen them at Target).
- My hair is falling out in the fistfuls. This depresses me too. I’ve always had serious hair envy so now I’m even greener with jealousy for those that have luscious locks.
- I bought a pair of colored jeans – pale yellow. I’m still on the hunt for mint ones, but everywhere I’ve looked is sold out of my size.
- My personal training is going well. It’s amazing how much more she pushes me than I would do on my own. I’m grateful for that.
- I made a really tasty cranberry banana bread last week. I should have taken pics. It’s pretty damn blog worthy.
- My dad now owns 3 buffalo. Tell me that isn’t a random piece of info

- Today I attended a lovely baby shower and wore a new hi-lo dress. Perhaps I’ll show you tomorrow?
- Our new furniture arrived. Cons: pretty sure I need to buy a new area rug to match now; the cats have already scratched it leaping off with their back paws (grr). Pros: looks great in the living room, good size, super firm, and Bean looks adorable in the chair
And there you have it.
Oh and I’ve missed you blog friends.
Tell me something random that I’ve missed about you.
Any (foodie) place I need to stop by near midtown NYC?
Tips for traveling with a 4.5 month old?
Miss you!!!
Oh I heard the hormones go crazy when you stop BFing! I am NOT looking forward to it! I get emotional just thinking about it~
Bean is so cute…I can’t believe how bog he’s getting, and how his features are changing!
3 Buffalo? That is so random, and funny. We went to the Zoo today and I saw 3 Buffalo.
Hope you are well!!!!! I’ve been in a blogging funk lately too!
Girl, I hope you don’t get impacted by the bf ceasing. It is tough
Bean looks so so different each and every day. I want to pause time and keep him just as he is!
Hugs to you!
Ohhh I wanna see this hi lo dress!!!
It’s on deck for tomorrow

Hug received. Thank you!
3 buffalo? What? That even beats my dad owning cows!
Yep! My dad wanted buffalo as pets although cows would seem more appropriate in WI
WHEN WILL YOU BE IN BOSTON??? I’m heading there on Friday!
Sat thru Mon
Buffalo?! And should I know what a hi/lo dress is?…
Google it
Yes buffalo!
Hi gorgeous. I missed you. And I want mint green pants but can’t find them anywhere, either! H&M is my next stop. I bought bright blue but just can’t commit to pink or red.
PB&Company’s shop or Eataly are two MUST stops in NYC for me!
Haha Eataly has totally been on my list!
Love bright blue jeans.
Sorry to hear the breastfeeding weaning is getting you down- you’ll get through it, though, and at least you have something to look forward to! That always helps me a ton.
Totally agree..I need things to look forward to to keep me from being in a perma-funk
Oh my goodness that’s boy’s soooooo cute! Seriously – that pic is downright precious!
I’m sorry to hear that you’ve got a few lows, but it seems you also have plenty of highs. Just sweat out that funk with your trainer; hopefully that’ll help kick it to the curb.
The trainer is helping immensely..endorphins are awesome.
Love the new gravatar pic!
Random thought thread after reading this post – yummm buffalo mozzarella!
And I have to say – you were gorgeous in that dress.. loved the flow-y ethereal look mamma!!
Haha, cheeese! Mmm..
And thank you! You looke adorable in your dress! I wish I had that one for my shower!
I was just thinking of you. Glad to know you are doing okay.
Eek
I cannot imagine all the emotional and hormonal changes.! You will have plenty more highs!
Agreed, the highs will always win!
So excited for your trip!!! We’ll be sure to take pics so the blog can get some bestie time love too
. Yay yay yay, 5 more days!!
Lots of pics are in order. I am sooooo excited bestie boo
Hair loss is one of those things people don’t tell you about life after carrying a baby. When you are pregnant, you retain a lot of hair (hense the extra fullness) due to elevated estrogen levels. Then, as your body adjusts to the lowered estrogen levels, your hair falls out. This happened to me with both babies right around the 4-month mark. Good news is, it grows back. Mine is still growing back, and my baby is 13 months.
Good to know it grows back!
What a gorgeous baby!!! I am in love! I hope things get easier for you! I am sorry that you are feeling a little down and out.
Thanks Erin..I think things will improve
