Hi there!
We’re skipping the regular scheduled posting of Shoes-Day! to show you our Babymoon photos
Come on’, you’re excited right? (Yeah, yeah, it’s okay if you’re not).
Whoever invented Babymoons and push presents really is a genius. They both may seem like frivolous things, but the Babymoon in particular is quite necessary. It’s meant to the be an opportunity (the last?) to spend some quality time together as a couple before the little one arrives.
Zach and I knew we didn’t want to fly anywhere – I have flown so much for work this year and wouldn’t want to fly more than 1 hour given that I’m in my 3rd trimester anyway. We decided upon returning to Tickle Pink Inn in Carmel, where we got engaged 3.5 years ago ![]()
It’s a little less than a 2 hour drive and is really one of my favorite places on earth. If you have not yet been to Carmel / Big Sur / Monterey, I highly encourage you to go. The beauty is unparalleled!
Before arriving at the B&B, we stopped in downtown Carmel to walk along the sand:
Then we were off to the B&B and arrived just in time for warm cookies to be served. Can’t beat that! Here are some shots of our room and views from our private balcony:

We decided to just chill and enjoy the unseasonably warm weather on the porch before taking a drive:
His and hers hip shots ![]()
Kinda love these shots!
Before we knew it, it was time for the wine and cheese hour back at the B&B:
Cran-apple sparkling cider for now and some champagne for later ![]()
Since one night at the Tickle Pink is a whopping $500 with tax, we decided to make the absolute most of our stay and not go out for dinner, but have dinner come to us!
Dinner in bed? Heck yes!
And watched a pretty nice sunset from our balcony:
The next morning, we had our breakfast delivered so we could relax in our robes and eat at our leisure:
Before long, it was time to say good-bye to Tickle Pink and hello to 80 minute hers and his massages – oh yes!!!
This was my 3rd prenatal massage, but my first massage doing the belly/boob hole thing on my tummy. I think I prefer laying on my side, but the massage was lovely regardless! And Sawyer seemed to enjoy it as well based on the wiggles and kicks he was going.
To conclude the day we walked around downtown Carmel and oooed and ahhhed over the yummy bakery treats and cute shops.
It was a truly perfect Babymoon! ![]()
Have you stayed in a B&B? Any particular memorable one?
Am I missing any other fabulous baby-related luxury (aside from Babymoons and push presents)???
What’s your favorite place in your state to visit?
I have always wanted to stay in a bed and breakfast. It seems like it’d be so fun to do just for a random weekend away…
Looks like a great weekend for you two (and the half in your tums…).
I like this B&B because it has all the full amenities and privacy of a hotel, but feels so much cozier!
love this!! the pictures of you standing on front of the sunset are gorgeous, really!
Thanks Christina! I sort of like ‘em too
Never stayed in a B&B but it looks wonderful! So cozy and the backdrop is unbeatable!! Glad you guys had a fun Babymoon
The ocean views are so breathtaking..hard to believe it’s real!
So beautiful! You and your hubby are adorable together. Looks like a fantastic babymoon
It really was Jen — just what we needed!
Was looking for your little bird friend on the railing of the deck! Glad you got some uninterrupted time alone. Good refresher and time to realize how darn lucky you two are! Love you three! Cookie
Howard? He definitely paid us a few visits
Carmel looks absolutely stunning. So glad you had a getaway for yourselves. I love B&Bs!! They are so romantic! A friend of mine got married on the shore in Jersey last year, and instead of staying at the standard chain hotel, we got a B&B on the beach, and turned it into a long weekend. It was the perfect vacation!
That sounds lovely Mila! It’s so great when you can turn a wedding attendance into a little vacay!
Your photos, especially the ones that show your silhouette, are beautiful! Looks like a dream weekend. I’ve never stayed in a B&B but am contemplating getting a Living Social package to one in Newport, RI for my parents for Xmas!
Thank you Caitlin!
That would be a fabulous gift for your parents and oh so sweet! Get one for yourself too!
What a sweet little family you are
And I’ve never stayed at a B&B but I know I would love the quaintness of it. I love luxurious hotels, don’t get me wrong, but B&B’s have so much charm.
Agreed, nice hotels are fabulous, but there is something a bit special about a B&B
Love all the pics! Looks like a great getaway!! I too love Carmel. I think the fact that it’s so dog-friendly makes it a huge winner in my book.
So true A! We were commenting we should have brought Noodle!
B & B’s sound so fun. Especially if they are in Carmel. I’ll never forget driving up the coast through Carmel and Big Sur last year. Gorgeous! Those picture of you on the rocks in the sunset are begging to be framed!
My Mom said the same thing too Lauren
You look so gorgeous Shanna! Love the outfit and those baby bump photos with the sun shining on you…stunning! Looks like you had such a fantastic time and your room was gorgeous with those views! Can you believe Todd and I have never visited Carmel together before…I think we need to make that happen stat!
I’m sure I’d love Carmel, but aside from that my fav spots to visit here in CA are San Diego since that’s where we got married, and definitely Napa! Once you have baby Sawyer we all need to go wine tasting together!
Shayla you would love love love Carmel — it is beyond quaint and there are so many great restaurants to choose from. I absolutely adore that town and really want to make more trips back there. Double date?
Also love Napa and Sonoma — mmmmm, wine tasting….:P
Yes to the double date girly!
Yay! How fun. I love the idea of taking a babymoon. You look so relaxed and happy. Just what you need.
Now I just need one of these every weekend Lauren
GORGEOUS pictures!! I absolutely love the ones of you standing on the rock- where you just kind of see your siloutte- so pretty!!
What an awesome place..and for $500 a night it BEST be AWESOME
Mmmm pizza in bed…can’t get much better
I know..it felt so so good to eat pizza in bed…it’s the little things!
And thank you for the sweet compliment
What a fitting place to return to for you babymoon! I’m sure this will sound cliche, but you are absolutely glowing! I love the pics you got.
We thought it was fitting too…it would have funny if there was only a 9 month difference..babhahahaa
That looks like a wonderful time, and your pics are lovely. I stayed in my first B&B a week or two ago. I really enjoyed it and would totally do it again, though I can see how some would be really hit or miss. I’m glad I found a hit!
They can be hit or miss — luckily I’ve only had *hits*! I’m glad you enjoyed yours too!
Oh my gosh, your Babymoon looks amazing!! Those shots of you on the beach are beautiful, too.
I’ve never been to a B&B (I don’t think, haha?) but I’d definitely go to this one. It looks great!
Thanks Court! It was a really great little getaway. Come to Cali and you can stay there yourself (hint hint!)
This is so precious! I love that you guys did this! Looks like such a fun time.
And I especially love the shots of you with the sunset!
Thanks Rach — it was a fun time..not long enough though
It looks SO beautiful there!!
It is..seriously gorgeous. Visit some day if you can!
That b&b looks beautiful! I love the pictures of you and hubby! You are so pretty! I’ve never been to a b&b before but it’s on my list of things that I would like to do one day
Thanks Hope =)
How fun…I’m all for doing babymoon and I will definitely want to do that too in the future. Tickle Pink is a cute name. Have you heard of Madonna Inn?
I’ve never stayed at a B&B along the coast but want to someday and thanks for writing about this B&B. We usually go to Monterey and stay a chain hotels.
I do recognize those beautiful cliff shots along the coast. It’s so pretty but scary to go near the cliff and take pictures because nothing is stopping you from falling over if ever you trip over a rock. I’m so clumsy and I don’t allow myself to get too close.
I have heard of the Madonna Inn but never been to it. Tickle Pink is one interesting name — you don’t know what you’re gonna get, but it really is fabulous!
Zach was definitely nervous having me stand on that boulder..haha
Looks like you guys had an amazing time!!
It truly was!
woo! swanky! what was your push present? you look gorg on the beach, love the shadowed shots!
Thanks Melissa — my push present was/is a ring with chocolate diamonds, but I’m not loving the way they modified it so I may be back to square run
You look absolutely beautiful in your photographs. You are such a stunning woman and mommy-to-be. Now go find Tyra. She would love you. I will tell you that every photograph you post.
Haha, okay Hollie..I’ll call Tyra — she’s gotta be on my speed dial somewhere
I haven’t stayed in a bed and breakfast since I was younger (a girl’s night with my mom and sisters). I don’t know why I never think to stay in them – they have so much character. Looks like you guys had a great (and relaxing) Babymoon! The views look unreal!
I agree — they have tons of character and charm. I’m also all about the views!
What a lovely time. You two are just glowing – glad you could do something special like this!
Awww LOOOOOVE the photos!! You look so gorgeous!!!!! I love the pizza in bed pic you look so adorable in that one especially!!!
I missed out on the babymoon!!!
I love all those pictures. You look so fantastic.
I’m glad you guys had a good time. It definitely looks like a beautiful place to visit.
So fun! We went to a bed and breakfast this past weekend too – but it was cold where we were! haha
I say this every day..but seriously, you look amazing!
You are glowing girl!!! What a fun little getaway
