Shoes-Day! Taupe maryjane repeat and going brunette

The last day I showed off the shoes du jour was almost a year ago!  You can see that post here (and see me pre-preggers – ahh, the thinner times..haha)

Here are the shoes once again:

I always forget about these shoes for some reason.  Maybe it’s because they are not quite grey, and not quite fully taupe so they sometimes can feel like they clash.  When in fact, they are a great neutral!

And what’s also great is that because they are a size 8, they are a little bit kinder to my swelling feet Smile with tongue out

This is what I wore with them last Thursday:

Sept 8 2011

For work wear, I wore this grey maternity wrap dress (made of a nice cotton jersey) and added a Victoria’s Secret cardi for a pop of color.

Okay and since you asked, I’m showing you a photo of the new hair color, but gotta say this photo is not the most flattering, so I promise to upload something cuter later this week Winking smile

Tell me, do you have shoes that you feel like just don’t go with anything?

What’s your go-to neutral color shoe?

  1. I’ve been searching for those shoes since you posted them to no avail. Sad face.

  2. I loooooove your hair!! You can pull off both hair colors so well, but the brown is a perfect fall look. love love. And speaking of love… are those shoes still sold? I see they are Nine West, but can you tell me the style name so I can look them up online? They are perfect work shoes! I like how you paired it with the dress, super cute!

  3. Love the hair color, so flattering on you…and it’s a very flattering pic! :)

Love those shoes too and outfit, and I love that color combination. I’d have to say my neutral shoe color is nude, I have a pair of nude color wedges that go with everything!

  4. Love the brunette! Oh bestie, you’re looking oh so purty these days. I think it’s that there’s a touch more happy behind your smile. I blame Baby O. :)

  5. Your hair looks great!! I have a pair of maroon shoes that I never know what to pair with. Luckily I have a coat that is the exact same color so I try to wear it with that as much as often.

  6. Ok I love those shoes — the buckle is in the right place! I like mary jane shoes but I find that the buckle is either too high or too low and digs into my foot — that looks like the kind I’ve been looking for.

I love the darker color hair on you — I’ve been thinking about changing up my hair — its been the same for so long!

  7. Those shoes are adorable! I also enjoy all the boxes of shoes stacked behind them in the picture. :)

Brown hair looks really good on you. I love it.

  8. Also in love with your hair color! I have a couple pairs of shoes like that, and then all of a sudden I’ll wear them with everything. Funny how that happens. :) I’m planning to purchase some new boots for the fall tomorrow, just need to wait for the Groupon to activate. :D

  9. Love the new hair! My go to shoe color is gold! I’m a goldaholic!

  10. Still love the style of those… :)

And yes, I have a pair of peep toe printed Guess shoes I didn’t break out but maybe once or twice this year. I’m awful at trying to match up the colors in the print!

  11. Loving the dark hair!!! Perfect for fall :)

  12. First of all, love the hair! Picture quality aside I can tell it’s very flattering – perfect for fall!

As far as shoes go, I have a similar shade of suede boots that I always ignore because I think they don’t go with anything when in reality they are extremely neutral…need to break them put more this year. Thanks for the reminder :)

  13. Love the hair! I went brown a couple weeks ago, but I already have an appt made for next week to re-do it. It has faded sooooo fast, and I don’t even wash my hair EVERY day. Crazy. Yours looks great. I hope the color holds for ya!

  14. Love the hair! Looks so healthy!

I usually go with a classic nude color as a neutral color. It goes with anything and it makes me shorter legs look a tad longer! I have a pair of Olive green wedges that I was hesitant to wear…but I’ve started to find that it goes with a lot more stuff than I realized!

  15. Your hair looks so good! And you know what, I love that wrap dress. I would probably wear that despite not being pregnant!

  16. Lovin the brunette Shanna! My go to neutral shoes are camel colored leather pumps. They make my legs look like 5 inches longer! I have these dressy red satin shoes that I bought last year and I’ve never worn them before =(

  17. My red wedges just don’t seem to fit with any of my work outfits. I’m working on that! And my go to neutral shoes are definitely my pumps – simple and easy!

P.S. LOVE the new hair color…so pretty!

  18. Oooh, Mary Janes! I’ve always wanted a pair.

  19. Love the hair color! I’ve been wanting to go from blonde to brunette for a while! Gotta make the switch!:)

  20. Loooooooooooooove tha hair!!!

    Loooooove the shoes…

and you still don’t look pregnant to me. Baby number 2…you need to be my fashion consultant.

  21. love love love the hair!
And I’d say my wedding shoes. They are tan and cream polka dot with a ruffle/flower on the peep toe and so so beautiful but I can never figure out if they are to much.

  22. I echo Laury please be our fashion consultants, hee! ;)

  23. I love those shoes! I think the color is perfect, actually. I have a pair of shoes (have them on today, as a matter of fact!) that are a taupey-purple color and I honestly wear them with everything. There are so many surprising neutrals!

  24. I have a pair of pumps that just don’t seem to go with anything so I know how you feel! My favorite neutral color is a camel color. I have a pair of camel colored boots that I love to wear in the fall/winter :)

  25. LOVE those shoes! You have so many cute clothes, I’m jealous. That is the thing I am most excited about for when I finally get a job again: being able to buy cute clothes for the first time in a long time! :)

  26. cute shoes! nine west surprises me from time to time with a great sale! you look amazing as a brunette (though from the pic it looks more dirty blonde than all out brown…prob because my hair is so freaking dark haha).

  27. Ok seriously you are like the only person that I know that can pull off blonde & brunette & look FANTASTIC in both!!
Also I LOVE that outfit- it’s adorable! The cardi goes well with the dress :)

  28. Aghhhh I started drooling as soon as I saw the shoe photo.. then read that you bought them a year ago… :( so sad! And love the hair!

  29. Adorable shoes! I’ve been loving that almost grey color lately. I think it’s an almost fall thing :)

  30. Love those shoes! I’ve gotten so many compliments on your mary jane peeps!

    Your hair looks SO good!!

  31. Those shoes are so cute! Love your outfit!

    You hair looks so pretty!

  32. Absolutely LOVE the hair color! Gorgeous, lady!

And those heels–so cute! I know what you mean about pairs of shoes that don’t seem to go with anything. I don’t wear a lot of brown, but for some reason I’m always drawn to brown shoes. This poses a problem when I try to wear them, as my brown bag selection is limited (one old bag!), and my wardrobe tends to look better with black shoes. I suppose it’s time to start buying brown…I think fall is the perfect time for that!

    Happy Wednesday, Shanna! <3

  33. Those shoes are SO nice! And might I add, that you have killer legs pregnant lady!!!! You’re definitely doing something right (and awesome). I love what you paired the shoes with, and now I totally want some heels like that. Is it bad that I hardly ever wear heels?! I want to wear more, but I don’t know where to start and how much heel wearing I can handle because it’s been so long!!! eek!
