Time for me to talk about the whole pregnancy thing again ![]()
The last time I updated can be seen here and all Baby “O” posts are here
So while I’m feeling large and in charge, all my new blends at the Healthy Living Summit had a way of making me feel like a tiny flower – love you guys! Apparently I don’t look 5+ months pregnant, but I assure you I was, and am. Perhaps I just am wearing my clothes strategically to hide the mini-bump?
Either way, Baby Boy “O” is here and here to stay (until Christmas that is…)
So the low down – I’m 22 and half weeks and have gained 10 lbs. I’m noticing it the most in the belly (duh
) and also in my face! Meep! Why do I get a chubby face so easily? The mornings I’m still pretty flat, but at night I balloon up quite a bit (comparably anyway).
Here I am at 19 weeks:
None of the clothes above (minus the cami) are maternity clothes, but I was able to wear my size 2 BCBG pencil skirt, zipped all the way up, thank you very much
Non-preggers this skirt is too big in the waist, so it just sits in my closet, but apparently it’s great for 19 weeks
Gotta admit by the end of the day, my tummy was feeling squished though!
And at the tail end of 19 weeks:
I picked up this maternity dress from Motherhood Maternity for less than $30 and it’s a total WIN! It’s super soft, very comfy, and I think it flatters quite well due to the empire waist, and deep neckline. Paired with silver wedges and it can work for day or night.
At 20 weeks, things really started poppin’:
Can you see the bump? It’s totally there now, huh? This outfit also is all non-maternity. The blue Max Studio skirt was a great pick-up from Marshalls in which I went up to a size small for some growing room. Cardis are great during pregnancy to cover up any bumps/lumps ![]()
You may remember this outfit from Shoes-Day that shows me at 21 weeks:
Another too-big pencil skirt worked well for my growing preggers belly, but I think next wear will be adorned with a Bella Band. Ooof.
At the tail end of 21 weeks I was at HLS and wore this:
While the pants are the same maternity capris I wore in my last fashion post, the top is actually just a tunic (from my mother-in-law – love it!!!) that she bought me at White House, Black Market. It has great shape with a slightly dropped waist that gathers just a bit and cute pockets. I dig this look a lot!
And finally here we are at 22 weeks (taken Monday):
I’m wearing a maternity white cami paired with my awesome maternity black pencil skirt. This skirt is seriously going to be making a ton of appearances. I feel like it is pretty flattering and is meant to work with my ever-expanding belly, but also works with a flat-tummy too. How can you go wrong? Oh and I wore my super cute Guess slingback maryjanes for the first time. I’m in love with them…even if they do hurt.
In general, I’m feeling pretty good and I’m enjoying watching my belly grow. Especially now that I can feel the baby’s kicks from the outside and so can the hubby!!! How cool is that! We could start feeling them about 2 weeks ago
Best feeling ever!
The only downside is that my available clothes are dwindling and at times, I’m having some low self-esteem moments. Nothing that lasts too long, but lingers long enough to make me feel less than stellar.
And you want to know what’s really cool? I was contacted by Amy at Bashful Bump to try one of their maternity bodysuits. Saweeet! They look super comfy. Can’t wait!
Any ideas for future pregnancy outfits?
What’s your go-to stylish yet comfy article of clothing?
PS Totally unrelated…I tried Pinkberry PB&J last night…so freakin’ good! Have you tried it?
I actually can’t see any difference in your face in the pics. The only thing I see is your lovely “glow.”
Aww thanks Bestie!
I love your outfit posts! They are inspiring to try some new combos, pregnant or not
And i really appreciate the honesty in the self esteem changes to pregnancy and the emotions that take over. It’s a totally super happy time in your life, but you sharing that you have moments where you freak because nothing fits, just makes it that much more real – Because I know I would be a total emotional high/low roller coaster!
Even though my pregnancy has been very smooth, I still struggle from time to time…this weekend at HLS was even a little tough wanting to feel like I was slimmer
You are such a stylish mommy-to-be — seriously! I really like what you wore to the HLS party — and the tunic/dress has pockets? I am in love with dresses with pockets.
Thanks Holly! It was a great find and I really love the look of the top..I’m also digging the pairing with leggings which I didn’t think I’d like
Aside from the one where you are turning to your side in the mirror, I would have no idea you are pregnant in any of these pics! Is it contagious? I’m not planning to have kids yet, but if I do I’d like to have the same results!
You have such fun outfits!
From the way it seems in the blogworld, it IS contagious..haha
I love these pregnancy updates and you are one hot mama! I can understand it being hard some days, but I just want you to know from an outsider’s perspective that you look gorgeous, glowing, and still teeny tiny!
I’ve never tried the Pinkberry PB!! I absolutely love PB flavored fro yo and I’m still yearning to try their salted caramel! Looks like I need to make a stop at the one in Palo Alto asap!
Aww thanks Shayla, but I’m seriously not teeny tiny..I swear! It’s strategic dressing!
We should meet up and go to Calafia and then get Pinkberry in Palo Alto..what do you think?
I am so jealous that you tried the new Pinkberry PB. I need to get on that, stat.
It really was so good Jill — my fave Pinkberry flavor yet!
you look so beautiful and do not look an ounce of pregnant from the front! i love the mustard cardi too
hmmm ideas for future preg outfits i love refinery29 slideshows (http://www.refinery29.com/maternity-outfits-for-pregnant-ladies/slideshow#slide-1) my go to stylish outfit is a loose sweater dress and frye boots!
I totally just looked at that a week ago Melissa and loved all the ideas — very inspiring!
I’ve been eyeing Frye boots too
You’re doing a wonderful job of complimenting your new shape… and I’ve had PB frozen yogurt but not PB&J!
Thanks Claire — the jam added to the PB froyo was perfection!
I love the empire waist dresses, Shan. Maybe you could rock them with a scarf when it’s cooler? Have you ever tried a hat? Could keep you warm while still showing that glowing beautiful skin. You look amazing, trust me.
Oh yes! I totally need to invest in some cute scarves. Miss you Anne!
Such cute outfits! You don’t look pregnant at all in the front taken pics and I can see your tiny baby bump in the side photo! Isn’t it amazing how big your stomach can grow during the day? Mine is always about 100x bigger at night than it is when I wake up! So strange!
I know! It seriously is nuts..it’s like major bloating or something. Even the hubby noticed early on.
I wish I was pregnant when you were so I could have gotten all your fashion tips!!!
You look amazing and I hate you because you don’t look preggo
hahah…I saw it in person!!! There’s a little bump there…you are so lucky that you are staying so tiny everywhere else! You look absolutely gorgeous
You’re way too kind Laury — You looked the SAME WAY when you were the same number of weeks along..tiny tiny tiny!
You’re right – your arms and legs are still so slender! I don’t even see much change elsewhere, but I guess that’s to be expected from someone who still wears a size 2.
Oh there is definitely change elsewhere..my upper thighs, hips, and face are definitely expanding!
You make pregnancy look so stylish!
I definitely dont see any difference in your face. You’re probably the only one that can notice it. I think you look fabulous.
Thanks Leah
I’ll have to do a side by side of face pics because my cheeks are totally chipmunky!
I bet you’d look adorable in a maxi dress. The look amazing on tall people.
And my yoga pants are the most comfortable piece of clothing I own.
I have two Parita — but I’m also short (5.4.5″)
Really?! You always look so tall in your pics! And I’m 5’2 so anything over that is tall in my book
You look great girl! Love the little bump/
Thanks Sabrina — it’s a-growin’ every day!
I always think loose dresses are so cute on pregnant women and the whole boho look (which I love!). I can’t wait to wear all that kind of stuff and just be super comfy, at least until I’m extremely pregnant and cant be comfortable anymore
I like that look too — I need a bit more shape since I’m short, but love exploring my options
I think you are the most fashionable pregnant lady EVER! You look SO good!
Aww Tina love you for saying that!
Okay so that tunic with leggings and heels is FABULOUS! I love all your outfits, but that one is especially great! Girl, you look so great.
U look amazing, as I told u when I met u! Seriously so adorable you are!! I want to try the new pink berry flavor so bad!!
Thanks for the great tips in clothing! I am right behind you at 16 weeks and am just starting to notice a small stomach…its just crazy! I really enjoy watching my stomach grow as well…it’s truly a miracle! My favorite clothing is my cute hot pink pajama bottoms from Old Navy and my White sleep tee from VS! Sooo comfy (and I probably look like a bum, but I don’t care)!
Just bought a dress from the MaxStudio outlet store – $18.00 for a soft comfy black (way cute) dress! I love a good bargain too
Nice! Max Studio knits are so comfy!
Congrats on your pregnancy
You look absolutely fantastic in every picture! I’m loving the tunic + black leggings look – so sleek.
Anndd now I really want some frozen yogurt!!!
Loving your maternity fashion! I think it’s so important to and find flattering items of clothing during one’s pregnancy. On days I felt like a blimp I would put on a cute dress and would suddenly feel less blimpy!
I totally agree Sam — I feel a ton better if I wear something stylish/cute
You are too cute, Mama. Not that I would know, but I *feel* like it would be hard to adjust to being pregnant in those beginning stages. Please do not take fashion tips from me. Ever.

You are too cute!!!! I love your outfits and when my eggo gets preggo I hope I look as slim as you do!!
xxoo
size 2 at 19 weeks? I might hate you. Hope that doesn’t mean we can’t be friends.
We can still be friends
You look down right incredible. I can’t say I was nearly as fashionable when pregnant. Of course, I was in maternity wear by 12 weeks, and had very few options later. Though, I have a 26-week picture up in a suit that you can’t tell I was pregnant. I always feel the need to reassure people, though. I’m not quite as tiny as you, but my son is only 13 weeks old, all the weight is gone, and I’m comfortably in size 4′s again. So don’t stress, enjoy it, and you’ll still be able to rock your favorites in the future!
Thanks for the comment Katy! I’m trying to enjoy all of it – everything is just so surreal and amazing!
Congrats on your little boy!!!
