And another piece of good news? I found a black sandal! Well not a true sandal in every sense of the word, but definitely more Summer than Winter, so it’s going in the sandal bucket. I’ll be showing those soon…
I wore these new shoes along with my very first Maxi dress to see my Bestie on Saturday:
As someone who is on the shorter side (5’4.5”), I didn’t really think I could pull of a maxi-dress, but then I said pssht, who cares. Rather than invest in something super pricey, I went to my ol’ standby, Marshalls, and found this orangey/pink and blue maxi for $20!
You probably want to see the shoes:
They’re FLATS! And I like them! Like, actually truly like them. Since my last pair of Kelly and Katie flats never did wow me and they lost a gemstone, I decide to bite the bullet and find a new pair. I snagged these Kenneth Cole Unlisted bronze sandals from Endless.com for $20 (originally $40).
Look at just how flat they are..yowsa. I like how the back strap can slide up and down so you can position it for your foot. Although, my heels still slipped out a bit. Overall, a Win!

I don’t really own either to be honest. (heels or flats) I guess my flats are plain flip flops and vibram fivefingers. I only own one pair of heels (which I can hardly stand in) and they are bumblebee themed for my old halloween costume! Ha I am pathetic when it comes to fashion and footwear but I don’t really care all that much. lol =P
I totally thought I was too short for maxi dresses… but I bought one two years ago and LOVE them now… as long as it’s the perfect fit, i belt it and wear it with greta flats ahahah

I’m a very “busty” 5’2″ girl. Maxi dresses make me look preggo. I have one or 2 that fit nicely & I love them. Love the shoes!

I’m not a huge maxi fan since I prefer to show off my best feature (legs!), but that one looks super cute on you. Great find! I’m also loving those flats. I guess I am 50/50 when it comes to flats/heels.
I go back and forth on liking my legs — it was nice to cover them up for once
I love flats. I work in a very unprofessional environment, so I never need to look particularly nice (seriously, as long as I shower Im good). So heels arent always realistic. If I need to go out into the warehouse for whatever reason, I’d rather be in flats.
I love those shoes, they’re adorable and look super comfy. The dress looks awesome on you too, I love the colors.

I bought a maxi dress last year, but still haven’t worn it because I have shorty complex. You look super cute in yours, so I may have to give it a go.
I didn’t even think I could pull off a maxi dress and I’m 5′ 6″! You look so good in it though! I love how you added that cute belt! Since my husband is a shortie, I weat mostly flats or kitten heels. I prefer high heels but my feet feel better now wearing them, so I can’t complain!

I haven’t jumped on the maxi dress bandwagon yet, but I have been making some small leaps to! I have looked at some dresses, but nothing has either appealed to me or been in my price range. I am so getting one this summer though. Yours is super cute, especially with the shoes – flat or not

That maxi dress looks fab on you! I love them as they’re so easy to wear and i’m lazy so picking out one dress is easier than picking out something for top and bottom!

Maxi dresses — I haven’t bought one, mostly because I find when I wear more fabric I look bulky — but then I see you and you don’t look bulky at all, so I must just need to find the “right” one.
I did feel a tad bit bulky, but I think it’s just because it’s not my normal wear
I really like that dress! I haven’t sprung for a maxi dress (I’m even shorter than you!) but that one looks really nice on you. And I like the flat sandals- I think we all need a good pair of flat sandals every once and a while!
I got a strapless maxi at Target and absolutely love it. It makes me feel lanky. Or lithe. One of those.

I love the fun colored stripes! I have also just crossed over into maxi dresses. I’m 5’3.5″ so I tend to stay away from anything that accentuates my shortness! I would try on maxi dresses everytime i went shopping and decided they weren’t for me. I could never find one that didn’t make me look like i was wearing a potato sack or pregnant… until I recently found one that i fell in looove with! And i can wear it with flats or heels, so double win!

You pull that dress off great!! I am obsessed with Maxi dresses..i think I pull them off and I’m 5’5. Maybe I don’t but at least I like them, haha. I was in Banana Republic and sae some for $98. and was like, um, these aren’t even as cute as the ones I got at Target for $27. Can’t wait to see the shoes you found!
