Happy Shoes-Day! Since I didn’t plan ahead to show you a new pair of shoes from my closet, I thought I’d show you what I’m in need of: the black sandal.
Why is it that black sandals and black purses seem so hard to find?
Last August, showed you my Nine West sandals here. Since then, they met their fate at goodwill. You see, I just didn’t love them and my narrow feet kept slipping forward which drove me bonkers. Now I’m left with one pair of black sandal wedges that I also don’t “love” so you can see my dilemma.
I’d like to find a cute pair that can go under dress pants for work, but are still sassy enough for jeans or a dress/skirt for going out.
These are a few options:
Covet: Christian Louboutin Noeud (love the bows!)
Guess Aland
Guess Anamarias (similar to the Aland)
Fergalicious Geena (good for work, lower heel, boring otherwise?)
Anne Klein Evanston (great print!)
Obviously the CL Noeuds are out based on their $1K pricetag. I’m looking for something under $100 preferably, which all the others fall under.
Which shoe should I pick?

I always suggest the Guess options. (First one is super cute, btw)
Guess is my favorite brand for shoes and I personally think they’re super comfy. Just sayin’.

I love Guess, they are so comfy for high heels. But not always work appropriate. So, therefore you might need to get two pairs
The Guess Anamarias are so cute with the bow for dressier occassions. But the zebra print Anne Kleins are fun for both work and play!
I agree! I definitely “toe the line” on acceptable work shoes, but I like long dress pants so most people can’t see them.
Love the Guess Alands… they’re very similar in style to my nude Carlos Santana’s which are super comfy and always get a ton of complements. I do also like the other Guess, and the Anne Klein print. But the fergelicious is too boring me thinks.

I like the Guess Anamarias the best — the bow is really cute and it looks like your toes get plenty of room (something I like to look for in shoes!)

Having a black sandal is like finding the perfect little black dress! It’s so necessary and so versatile but it’s so freaking hard to find one you love!
I’m a fan of Guess Aland, but the heel may be a bit high. It would be cool for a night out, but it would keep me from wearing them too often. Good luck with your quest. I’ve been on a quest for the perfect brown work wedge (low and functional yet not granny-looking) for about two years now!
Ah, bummer about the CL! But both Guess pairs are equally cute. Then again I know nothing about shoes so feel free to disregard all advice from me on the subject.
I love the comfort of Guess and the Anamarias look very pretty…it’s funny that it’s named that; I was married on Anna Maria Island in Florida…I think it’s fair to say that you should go with that one! haha
I love the Guess Alands – so cute! And I’m with ya – black sandals and black purses are so hard to find. Luckily, I found a great pair at Aldo a few months ago right before a trip to Vegas. They only problem with Aldo is that they don’t carry half sizes so it’s hard to find an exact fit. Sometimes when you’re in a bind you gotta take what you can get!
I like both of the Guess pairs, but I think I’d go for the first pair! The patent leather on the 2nd pair looks like it could get pretty painful.
