Shoes-Day!

Happy Shoes-Day!

Gotta share with you that the oil blotter tip for the seat covers came from Tyra Banks ;)

Even though I’m not a huge fan of flats or even <1.5″ heels, sometimes I feel they are somehow more acceptable in a sandal than a ballet slipper.  Not sure where I came up with this, but it works.

I have a few pair of “flat” gladiator sandals and by flat I mean 1-1.5″ heel ;)   You can see a pair I wore in Kauai, here.

This weekend, while out and about running errands, I wore this:

Saturday errand-running-wear

This is quite the awkward photo.  Even Naava is displeased.  Forgive me.

Anyway, I bought these shoes about 2 years ago at DSW while perusing the clearance racks.  They are by Kelly&Katie and were originally about $90, but I scored them for under $30.  I have to say that I think they’d be cuter without the horizontal strap near the toes, don’t ya think?

99% of the time I will choose fashion over comfort and a 4″ heel over a 1″ heel, but lately it seems I am appreciating a lower heel (GASP!).  Then I came  across these:

Chic, hot, cute (source)

And I sort of want them.  They are Marais USA leopard print slingback flats and are $85.  That’s a bit pricier than what I’d want to shell out for flats, but we shall see.

Are you digging the leopard print?  If you have seen some great sandal styles, send me a link!

Now show me your shoes!  I loved that you guys want to see other blogger’s strut their stuff, so let’s do it.  Share with me a full length photo of your outfit with the shoes your showcasing and also a close up.  Tell me what you love about ‘em.  Send your photos and a note to me at shannamccord [at] gmail [dot] com

  1. Ha ha I love Naava in that picture!! I totally agree that flats are way more acceptable in sandal version rather than ballet. I’m totally digging the leopard print, but the price? Not so much :(

  2. Love those leapord print shoes!!! They almost look vintage!

  3. These are adorable! Ive been all about flats, and low heels the last few years. I blame my job. So on Sunday when I went to my friends wedding I may have been out of my mind when I put on 4.5 inch wedges. My legs looked SO good in them though. :)

  4. Andrea aka Bestie

I also lurve the leopard print, but I’m morally against spending that much on flats. But I did see a bunch of flat options at marshalls (just bought two pair for walking around Europe in between meetings!)

  5. I love the fun print shoes- I have a few but don’t wear them as much as I should. I’m awful at coordinating them into the outfit!

  6. I’m the same way when it comes to shoes, especially heels. I’m all about the 4 inch heel, especially when it comes to pumps :)

  7. I actually like the front toe strap on those sandals! Then again I’m not really a fan of the fancy thong trend that has been going around. I bought some really cute shoes (high heels, of course) last week- I’ll have to send them along!

  8. I actually like that extra horizontal strap on those sandals — to me it makes them stand out a little bit more.

  9. I have a pair of leopard print Isaac Mizrahi (not the Target line, his regular line) and I paid so much for them! And I haven’t put them on since I bought them 7+ years ago. Not sure if I can carry off the leopard print!

  10. I actually find higher heels to be more comfortable. Am I a weirdo…perhaps? I always choose fashion over comfyness though as well. :)

  11. LOVE Kelly and Katie shoes! Every time I find a cute pair at DSW, they seem to be that brand. :)

Can’t wait to read more of your blog–so cute!

  12. Love the shoes. Although I didn’t get any fun flats, I did get some new nike shoes. The best nike shoes I have had in a really long time.

  13. I love how your idea of flats is actually a wedge haha I don’t know how you do it girl! I spend my life in sneakers lol

  14. Those shoes are so cute, definitely loving the leopard print. I have a pair of cheetah flats that I have been wearing nonstop, love love love animal print!

  15. I love those shoes! I like the casualness of them with the bit of heel. I need to go shoe shopping…thanks for the reminder ;)

  16. I’m so impressed with your ability to wear heels!!! I hardly ever wear heels because I’m a wimp. Ballet flats are usually my go-to shoe, especially for work because my office campus is HUGE and I’m always having to run around to the next meeting!!
