I am grateful for…

We’re halfway through the week people!  Let’s keep it up.  To make Wednesday all the sweeter, we have a dinner date with Josh and Kelley for some Mediterranean food tonight :D

I’m going to take a break from the Kauai pics today and instead talk about fooood.  Yes that beautiful thing we consume that makes me happier than a new pair of shoes (well, er, sometimes).

Recently, Lynn (in LA) from The Actor’s Diet posted about a place called Cafe Gratitude and her first visit.  She noted in her post that this was the first LA location but that they were all over the Bay Area.  Say what?!?!  I had no idea.  I checked their website–and menu, of course–and new I had to go ASAP.

The location that was closest to me was actually in a Whole Foods.  Well wouldn’t know I had to go to WH anyway for my Nugo Darks and to (finally) find/try nutritional yeast?  I decided to head out on Friday and make a little afternoon of it.

Prior to arriving, I knew I either wanted the Raw walnut burger, the veggie burger or the taco plate.  I decided to have the cashier make my decision for me.  What did she choose?  “I am Transformed” — the taco plate, which is described as:

I AM TRANSFORMED TACO PLATE $12 Two handmade corn tortillas with brown rice, beans, salsa verde, guacamole & cashew nacho cheese. Served with a side salad with fig balsamic dressing

Sounds tasty, no?  And if you remember my Angel Card from earlier this year, you’ll see that it was an excellent choice:

My 2011 Angel Card Word

Pretty neat, huh?

Wanna see my eats?

Transform in muh belly!

I was very impressed with the food.  It had great spice, loved the cashew “cheese,” and enjoyed the heartiness of this vegetarian meal.  The price tag is a little steep, but based on how full I was, I’d say it was worth it.

And I love that their menu focusses on positive affirmations that aligns with their name, Cafe Gratitude.

It got me thinking…what am I grateful for?

  • My health of myself and my loved ones
  • My pets Myko, Neci, and Naava
  • A good job, with a new opportunity on the horizon
  • My Kauai trip with amazing friends
  • Oh and of course: vino, lattes, shoes, pedicures, my Kindle

What are you grateful for (silly or not)?

Have you tried Cafe Gratitude?  What did you eat?  Or what would you eat given this menu?
