We’re halfway through the week people! Let’s keep it up. To make Wednesday all the sweeter, we have a dinner date with Josh and Kelley for some Mediterranean food tonight
I’m going to take a break from the Kauai pics today and instead talk about fooood. Yes that beautiful thing we consume that makes me happier than a new pair of shoes (well, er, sometimes).
Recently, Lynn (in LA) from The Actor’s Diet posted about a place called Cafe Gratitude and her first visit. She noted in her post that this was the first LA location but that they were all over the Bay Area. Say what?!?! I had no idea. I checked their website–and menu, of course–and new I had to go ASAP.
The location that was closest to me was actually in a Whole Foods. Well wouldn’t know I had to go to WH anyway for my Nugo Darks and to (finally) find/try nutritional yeast? I decided to head out on Friday and make a little afternoon of it.
Prior to arriving, I knew I either wanted the Raw walnut burger, the veggie burger or the taco plate. I decided to have the cashier make my decision for me. What did she choose? “I am Transformed” — the taco plate, which is described as:
I AM TRANSFORMED TACO PLATE $12 Two handmade corn tortillas with brown rice, beans, salsa verde, guacamole & cashew nacho cheese. Served with a side salad with fig balsamic dressing
Sounds tasty, no? And if you remember my Angel Card from earlier this year, you’ll see that it was an excellent choice:
Pretty neat, huh?
Wanna see my eats?
I was very impressed with the food. It had great spice, loved the cashew “cheese,” and enjoyed the heartiness of this vegetarian meal. The price tag is a little steep, but based on how full I was, I’d say it was worth it.
And I love that their menu focusses on positive affirmations that aligns with their name, Cafe Gratitude.
It got me thinking…what am I grateful for?
- My health of myself and my loved ones
- My pets Myko, Neci, and Naava
- A good job, with a new opportunity on the horizon
- My Kauai trip with amazing friends
- Oh and of course: vino, lattes, shoes, pedicures, my Kindle
What are you grateful for (silly or not)?
Have you tried Cafe Gratitude? What did you eat? Or what would you eat given this menu?

I’m grateful for my family. I’m grateful for my friends. And I’m grateful for the opportunity to go off to college, which has allowed me to grow so much as a person and meet the most wonderful people.
There is not Cafe Gratitude near me sadly, but it looks like a great place!
College can be a pretty great experience Liz
I’m grateful for my family, my boyfriend, my friends and oatmeal… just kidding, kind of. No Cafe Gratitude out here but maybe I’ll come across one one day.
It’s okay to be grateful for oatmeal
I’m grateful for the health and happiness of my friends and family, and that extends to my pet family.
And I’m grateful for new opportunities in life, and the fact that the only thing constant in life is change.
And change = good =)
Im grateful for my family. Especially for the fact that my parents are willing to help me pay to go back to school.
That’s great Leah!
Dang, I wanna be transformed! That dish looks delicious!
I’m grateful for all the new friends I’ve meet in the past year. Living in a new city has been GREAT Thanks to these people
It was tasty!
And yay for new cities and great friends =)
I’m grateful for the vacay I just had! A mental break with good friends was much appreciated!
Can’t wait to see pics Amy!
The Transform plate actually sounds really tasty to me! In Canada, $12 would *not* be on the high side for that. I am always amazed when I go to the States how much cheaper eating out is!
It’s high for lunch I think…not dinner so much.
I’m grateful that it’s Wednesday and I am not looking forward to the weekend because I am actually LOVING what my work entails right now. What a switch right?
Gorgeous nails my friend. I really need a manicure!
Loving work? Are you ill?
Just kidding Ameena — that rocks!
I’m grateful for the fact that when I really sit back and look at the problems in my life, they seem so small compared to what’s going on in other parts of the world. And I’m grateful that I have power to help others, even in a small way! (Kinda deep for a Wednesday afternoon, isn’t it??
)
Deep, but very true Megan
So many yummy things off that menu! I probably would’ve had a veggie burger or Mexican bowl
It’s so nice to have those days where you can be grateful about everything in life
I think the veggie burger is next on my list!
Ooh! You’re meal looks awesome. I’m grateful for my family, friends, everyone’s health, and just life right now! It’s nice to sit back and just think about those things – puts everything in perspective. Great post!
I agree Parita — gotta take the time to appreciate what we’ve got!
I am grateful for my family, my boyfriend, my dog, and so many other things!
And your meal looks really good! Hope you have a great day girl!
It was tasty! And thanks!
I am grateful to be healthy, to be going on vacation tomorrow and to be bringing the beautiful shoes you sent me!
I wonder if we have a cafe gratitude near us!?
Show me pics of the shoes on vacay Alyssa!
I’m grateful for Carlos and Fiona, most of all.
Though, I’m also grateful for Diesel jeans, eBay, Restoration Hardware, Pottery Barn, Crate and Barrel, and of course, every person that Martha Stewart allegedly screwed over in her rise to the the top. I’ll try to rise somewhat more gracefully through the ranks.
Hahahaaha…too funny Josh!
I am greatful that even though I am having a lot of family problems-everyone is still safe and sound.
i am grateful to have a job i love (even when i complain), two happy and healthy pups, my health, my boyfriends, friends and family and honestly everything.

I’m grateful for Reese’s Egg season.
I love this! Me too…Reeses are the best!
thanks for the inspirational post, so important to realize and think of the things you are grateful for each day it gives you purpose.
Oh that place sounds wonderful!
