Stylish 3x’s over

First things first — the rest of the eats for Sunday included an awesome little find I got at TJs:  Stuffed pork roast? yum!

TJ's Pork Florentine

Pros:  Super low cal (1 serving is 240 cals and this whole thing was only 3 servings), good flavor, lovely not to have touch nekkid meat.
Cons:  Took a good 15-20 min longer to cook than the package said.  I think I should have kept the foil on and cooked that duration longer.  Oh well.

I also had 1.5 glasses of Merlot and 4 5 Hershey Kisses for dessert :)

The ubiquitous Style Award has been floating around the blogvine and I’ve been hit 3 times!  So thank you Jessica, Di, and ? (err I forgot the 3rd and deleted it from my email..sorry!)

I’m going to keep my 7 random things related to fashion and accessories if you don’t mind ;)

1)   I’m not a fan of anything “heart-shaped” so much so that I was adamant against a heart-shaped neckline for my wedding dress.  I went out of my way to not get one, in fact (pic below).  But oddly enough, the strapless heart-shaped looked quite a bit better on me.  I’m too stubborn for my own good.

2) I like to keep all my shoe boxes.  This drives my Mom nuts when I buy shoes when I’m on vacation and try to smoosh the whole box in my suitcase, thereby totally wasting space.  But by keeping my shoes in boxes, I can stack ‘em and make room for more ;)

3) I love estate jewelry – old jewelry with a history.  I first tried on an estate (engagement) ring in Winter Park, FL in 2008 and instantly knew that is what I wanted my wedding ring to be.  After much searching, my hubby actually found the perfect engagement ring for me at an Estate Jewelers in San Francisco.  My ring is a from around 1915 and is Edwardian in style with the original European “fire cut” diamond from the same year.  The art-deco filigree is all hand done in platinum.  My wedding band is an art deco version (also platinum) but is modern since wedding bands weren’t as common in the early 1900′s.  Another random fact, my ring size is 4.25.

4) I love wearing belts to add some pizzazz to an outfit.  Big belts are my favorite, but since I have a short torso, I often have to opt for the “skinny” belts.

5) Shopping in normal stores often bores me.  I like the thrill of the hunt that I get at places like Marhsalls, Nordstrom Rack, etc.

6) I rotate my current purse about once per month depending on the season and my social activities at that time.  I only have a few “high end” purses and the rest are bought from places like Shop Suey Boutique

7)  I’ve always been obsessed with rings.  Most jewelry I can do without, but I never leave home with rings on each hand.  My latest faves are big cocktail rings.  The one below is from Banana Republic and my bestie has the same one :)

  1. you look GORGEOUS in your wedding pic!

  2. I do keep my shoes in their boxes. I find it easier to find and sort shoes perfectly. I also love belts. I probably have about 1000.

  3. LOVE that cocktail ring and I have to admit I’m a hugeeeeeeee fan of estate jewlery too! I love the history that may (or may not!) come with it!

  4. Could your wedding dress BE any more beautiful?

On a side note, I hate shopping in places like Marshalls because they stress me out. I can definitely see where you could like the challenge of shopping there though.

  5. Ah the shoe wall. How I miss borrowing from the shoe wall. :) And my ring is still with Heather in Long Beach. Guess I should call n get that back!

  6. I know what you’re talking about with the “thrill of the hunt”. Rarely do I buy clothes that aren’t on sale. Mostly because I’m on a budget and I’m just so much more satisfied knowing I got a good deal!

  7. I don’t keep any shoe boxes! I can’t stand them! : ) And btw- over 4 carats? Holy moly girl! You are lucky!

  8. My signature thing are my sunglasses; they’re coach and I love them. I wear them all the time, it’s my thing.

    I love Marshalls too!

  9. bakebooks

I voted you! You are THE STYLISH after all :)

Oh my gosh – that wedding photo – you look just like an actress! …can’t remember her name though..Cheryl something…and also kind of like Kristin Chenoweth – who is gorgeous and adorable :)

  10. I tend to wear dresses pretty much all the time. I’ve gotten a bit more casual this year, but still mostly wear dresses and skirts.

And I’m with you on the heart shaped thing. I don’t like it either!

  11. I don’t keep my shoes in boxes, they are allll over the place!

  12. I def keep my shoes in boxes except for a few that I have on a hanging shoe rack. I keep flip-flops and tennies in these nice little stylish bins, though.

Fave fashion trend would be that i LOVE hats and scarves.

  13. I love, love, LOVE your ring set!!!! SO beautiful! I’m definitely a fan of antique estate jewelry as well…so much character!

  14. I love big rings too! I keep my shoes in clear plastic boxes so it’s easy for me to spot them!

  15. Soooo many shoes! I don’t think I have owned that many in my entire life. LOL

I’m not a shoes girl. I am a jeans girl though.

  16. i’m obsessed with tj’s frozen meat entrees. will have to look out for that one!
