Everything is better in Italy…the vino, the people, the pasta, the bread, the cobble stone streets, the bakery storefronts, the architecture, the history, the love stories, and…
…the shoes.
How I left a 2 week adventure there with only 1 pair of boots and 1 pair of shoes, I have no idea. Oh yes, I do. I knew I was going to be hoofing it up and down train station stairwells. Little did I know that a little bit of the pitiful look will get you a charming Italian man to carry your bag for you. I have no shame.
Back to the shoes.
Last February, I must have been channeling Elvis because I really wanted a pair of Blue Suede Shoes. Ask and you shall receive!!!
I found these in a store front in Venice on a particularly rainy morning. My bestie and I had our line up of things to do, and wouldn’t you know we had to traverse down a street with smorgasbord of quaint shops each and every time? Yep. There was no other way, I assure you.
So while the bestie was buying a new umbrella (since Italy claimed the one she brought), I peaked into a shoe store. And what do I see? Sale? Oh yes please! Within seconds my foot was in the size 38 shoe that happened to run small. Lucky for me since I’m a perfect 37.5 which those silly Europeans don’t carry. Either way, I quickly paid a reasonable amount of Euros for these lovely navy suede pumps and was on my merry way.
Remember how I mentioned my “sleeping transformation” in that my hubby and I switched sides of the bed? This is what he had to say: I don’t know about this side change…I felt all off. Couldn’t plug my phone in, could not find alarm button to turn off…I vote we change back
Huh, guess I wasn’t the only one!
