Shoes-Day!

Suede Italian boots to a NFL game?  Why not ;)

Ready for the 49ers game ;)

A couple weekends ago, my hubby’s work organized a 49ers tailgating party pre-game.  Normally when you head anywhere near SF, you need to prepare to be utterly freezing at a drop of a hat.  Usually this means layers.  So that’s what I did.  My bottom layer was as shown and then I brought a huge sweater/coat to keep me warm.  The problem?  It was 80 frickin’ degrees out!  Ugh.  That is NOT football weather in my mind.  My poor feet were sweating in my suede boots.

And why would I wear my Italy boots to football?  Well they are super comfy, went with the ‘outfit’ as much as it were, and I didn’t think I’d be rollin’ in mud so, why not?

These boots were purchased in Roma on Day 2 of my 14 day trip with my bestie back in February.  So yes, that meant lugging them around for the next 12 days (not so smart).  But to my/our defense, the store was having major sales so we had to buy something!  I got these little beauties for about 15 Euro (on sale from 80 Euro, or approx $150).  Score one for Italy.

I do — 8 months later — still regret not buying the knee high fold-over suede navy boots in Florence that I saw.  Hurumph.  Guess I’ll have to go back. ;)

And another Italy shot just because =)

Do you buy shoes on vacation?

Where’s your next trip?  Mine is to Kauai in Feb 8

  1. I finally have no trips planned at all, and it feels great! I am thinking of planning something for mid April to take a break from work! : ) I typically don’t buy shoes, but then again, I typically don’t shop much on vacations either!!! Cute boots!

  2. I love my black suede boots! I bought them in July- gotta love the sales!

And some of the best purchases I’ve made are impulse buys. You just gotta go with your instinct sometimes. :)

  3. Damn…. i need to just raid your closet! (and go to Italy!) Black suede boots are so in right now thanks to “princess” kate, you were ahead of the trend : )

  4. My next trip is to Puerto Rico on the first of the year. I love your shoes and I have bought shoes countless times on trips. There are just too many unique shoes and clothing outside the US.

  5. Why not wear boots to a football game? They look fabulous!

I wanted to buy shoes on my trip to NYC but didn’t have anywhere to put them – luggage wise. So I did the next best thing, I had them shipped!

  6. Love the boots!!
I never really go anywhere, so I havent had the opportunity to buy shoes on vacation. I have bought shoes in Seattle on a long weekend though. Does that count?

  7. Ah Italy. I have a telecom with Italy later today. Perhaps we should go again. I could always use more boots. ;)

  8. Those boots are SO cute!!!! Oh my gosh. And so versatile ;) But seriously, super cute. And I agree, 80 degrees doesn’t feel like football weather! Although I think I’d like watching games outside more if it was warm out ;)

  9. I buy all kinds of clothes/shoes on vacation, they’re the best souvenir! I love how you have a story behind your boots (glorious boots, at that).

  10. You go girl, why not wear boots to a fb game! Thats awesome :)

Thats so crazy you go to go to Rome :) I just came back from North Carolina a few days ago and I’m glad to be home!

If u don’t mind my asking how did u get over the stress of dealing with weight? i read ur story and I’m 5″4″ 106 pounds and I count calories, eating 2500-2600 a day and weight train but i’m still afraid to gain any weight. Even though people tell me I’d look great with a little weight on me.

    • Maybe you just aren’t meant to gain weight..if you’re eating 2500 cals a day and are fit, it sounds like you are healthy. I have a good friend who is a runner, eats tons, and barely passes 100lbs and is just naturally quite thin.

As for me, I *hate* gaining weight because I know I gained pudge not muscle. Ugh. I didn’t mean to gain it, I just had one too many fat-kid moments and then it kept creeping up..grr…there is a happy medium somewhere!

  15. LOVE your boots!!! I need to buy a pair of brown knee-high flats, but unfortunately need to save up some moola.
I have a “day trip” planned to go see a Jets game on December 12th – but I don’t know how FUN it’s going to be…seeing as though it’s December 12th, at a 4:15 game…in New Jersey. Bring on the hand warmers!!! :-P
