How’s that for a trio or topics?
But first, hello from the other Coast (aka East Coast). I will be here until Monday evening to visit with Zach’s fam and attend a wedding on Sunday. And HOLY HOTNESS! It is muggy and humid and everything NorCal is not. It’s a wee bit of a shock to the system. Instant sweat monster. Seksi right? ;-P
Anyway…
I thought I’d share some random reviews and whatnot.
My hubby found these meatballs at our beloved Trader Joe’s and somehow thought that his discovery counted as full on meal for the week. MMmm, no. Heating something up doesn’t count as actually cooking.
But I was intrigued and so in the cart they went and a dinner I did prepare:
Verdict? Yum! Love the fontina cheese flavor. This is a perfect way for non-beef eaters to get their ‘sgetti-and-meatball fix for sure
Next up is something I’ve thought about trying for awhile…my preferred way of eating veggies is raw, but sautéed is a close second. Sometimes raw veggies are pretty darn boring and a dip adds some flava! But those darn dips are pricey and full of calories! So I thought why not make my own with just a few items:
I mixed about 1 tbsp of the Green Onion dip mix into 1 cup of TJ’s plain Greek Yogurt. Also added some ground peppa cuz I’m addicted.
Verdict? Good, but not great. It needed more punch and I think the addition of some fresh dill would do wonders. But super cheap and good nutritional profile will prompt me to attempt this again
And finally BodyPump. This group exercise is nothing new to the blog community. And truthfully it’s not that new to me. It’s more “new again.” I’ve taken a few classes here and there over the years but nothing consistent. Now I’ve started attending the Saturday class at my local Gold’s Gym for the past 4 weeks. I.Am.In.Love. Why did I ever not make this part of my weekly workout routine?
After the first session, I could already tell my metabolism was boosted. And now at the 4th, my muscle tone is coming back and my weight is done a couple of pounds. Woohoo!
Admittedly I’m easing into this class with some fairly wussy weights but each week I’m adding more and continuously feeling the burn. If you haven’t been yet, try it! In fact I get to go again tomorrow in at the Charlottesville ACAC. YES! Feels good to workout on vacay
Now we’re off for a 5 hour hike in the Blue Ridge!
What’s the most recent great find you had at Trader Joe’s?
Have you done BodyPump?
