My dear bestie A: no need to answer this
As for the blog readers, I’m talking about Trader Joe’s Hot Italian Chicken Sausages. Yum-O (ooo weird, just channeled Rachel Ray there!).
We’re in desperate need for a good grocery run, but I will be gone all next week for work and when the wife is away, Zach will play eat completely frozen processed foods. So I’ve been scrounging a bit for easy, filling meals. And we also have a guest staying with us who is Zach’s brother’s friend. Surely I couldn’t have him go hungry as well!
Last night’s dinner is courtesy of TJs (aka “the best grocery store ever”). A no-fuss, no-muss mish-mash of all things yummy, including: TJs gnocchi, TJs Tomato Basil pasta sauce, TJs aforementioned chicken sausages, and TJs frozen broccoli. Even the red vino I was drinkin’ was from TJs!
Boil water for gnocchi, steam the broccoli, cut the ‘butts’ off the sausages before slicing and sauteing, mix it altogether when cooked, top with TJs parmesan cheese and you have a meal, my friends!
Let me digress for a moment. As you may know, I was a vegetarian for 14 years and still have trouble with a lot of meats and definitely don’t like ‘naked’ meats or weird meat parts. That being said, what’s up with pork casings? G-R-O-S-S. I was on such a kick for my chicken sausages thinking what a great way to get protein without having to touch the slimy cold defeathered birds. Well what do I read in the ingredients one day? Pork casings! GAH! I went on a hiatus after that for a bit. Now I just pretend it must be a misprint
I can deny the pork casings, but I cannot deny the sausage butts it’s in my meal — you know, the little stubby end. Yick!
What TJs chicken sausages are your favorite???
I like the Italian (above), Jalapeno, and Tomato Basil best
